My dad & I getting Grill’d. He looks so old these days. We’re all getting old. It’s depressing. But enough with the depressing thoughts. We had GRILL’D and it was awesome. I know it’s cheesy saying it but I love my dad. He’s always taken care of Bindi & I. It’s an odd family dynamic actually. But in any case, I couldn’t ask for a better father. Cause’ I mean, even if you did — you wouldn’t get one. :-P

Made salmon risotto with capsicum with the new risotto rice I bought from The Essential IngredientColes. After all, it is imported from Spain. I’m definitely sticking to this one whenever I make risotto. The texture is just beautiful and doesn’t turn out too soggy and mushy like the other brands do. Or maybe it’s just me and my lack of Italian/Spanish blood but I think this was a success :-) If anyone’s interested I can put up the recipe & the name of the risotto brand ! awhile back ~ if you can recall my adventures in Prahran. I could REALLY tell the difference in the quality of the rice compared to the usual kind I buy from

My sister’s totally douchy photo from school that I stuck up on her bedroom door. *Evil cackle* Speaking of photos, was going thru really old ones the other day on our ancient computers back in the ‘burbs with Bindi and found some classically fugly ones of us awhile back in the early 2000’s. Might put em’ up here if ever I can be bothered. I think one should laugh at oneself from time to time. It’s only healthy.

Getting some coffee with Yan Yan, fellow monash student. I spot a girl in the back who I recognise from a tutorial not being subtle with the staring at me.. ! (No I am not taking a picture of you). Does anyone know who Mo Bear is ?

Forget me like I’ve never existed
Forget me like we never met
Forget me is the last step
To cure your mind that’s twisted.

Nicole’s ‘come hither’ look X-D And she swears she doesn’t have it. All the creeps that approach her are the proof, though we always joke it’s due to her having done something really bad in a past life !

Went to meet Mikey Steele for coffee at Brother Baba Budan which is a cafe I’ve always wanted to try out having heard so many raves about their coffee (it’s not one of those places you get a hot chocolate at Nicole !!). Didn’t realise it was so small but it only seats 15 people which is so ironic because there are so many chairs on the ceiling ! Luckily we got there just as a couple of people were back off to work so we took their table & chairs (it’s actually a communal table so you’re sitting with strangers). I got a long macchiato as I usually do.

It’s day light saving ALREADY ?! Crazy .. (but insanely exciting) ! I feel like something wild’s going to happen by the end of this year. Like a new era of craziness. And there’s no explaining why ;-o

Bindi working on a project for uni. I think it was either 2am or 3am when I took this. She’s always up in the wee hours of the morn just like me X-D. In fact, my whole family’s noctural. It’s nearly 1am and my mum is cleaning the house as we speak (or type).

Bread and butter pudding with currants that I made for Lazy Thursday dinner. But it looks a whole lot more like French toast to me, just because I didn’t have any stale bread around (as you do) ! Very delicious ! A hit, I think :-D

Very behind ! Also missing a few days.. !! I know they’re here somewhere o>.<o By the way, my phone is back in order (a little embarrassing story there.. ;-x) so if you’ve called me over the weekend or on Monday, my profuse apologies ! I’ll get back to you if I haven’t already :-)

Watched the sunrise (not intentional). It’s prettier during summer. During winter when you’ve stayed up till the morn’ assignmenting, it’s more of a sign that if you haven’t finished by now, you’re REALLY screwed.

Nicole made cake. Was goood despite its ‘I-was-dropped-recklessly-on-the-floor appearance’.

10. Learn to play at least 5 new songs on the piano (1/5)
One of my favourite songs “Les Feuilles Mortes” (Edith Piaf). Unfortunately don’t have my piano with me so it’s just vocal. I’m not a professional singer and I screwed up the first two lines (you’ll realise this once you watch the video) but nonetheless dedicate it to all my loved ones including those who had a shoddy day today ;-)
Lyrics:
The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold
Since you went away the days grew long
And soon I’ll hear old winter’s song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall

For some reason as I was crossing the bridge over the Yarra, I was compelled to stop to have a look over the water. A “stop and smell the roses” moment I suppose. And as I did, I just manged to get a glimpse of this rower ! Just an expanse of water, and one sole river rider. I like ! ;-)

I wonder what this means to the person who put it there. I am always curious about the little things people leave behind ~ like guerilla art, leaving their mark in various places. It’s fascinating and inspiring.. !
